What should I do about him?

Okay, this probably seems very stupid to some people out there, but I need help! I asked a guy out to the dance, and he said yes. He's a perfect gentleman, and very sweet to everyone. He describes us as "friends who like each other" which is okay with me, I guess... His connotation of dating is going out to dinner or something, but mine is more casual. I feel annoyed, for two reasons. One, I have to do everything. I asked him to the dance, I had to hold HIS hand, and so on and so forth. The second reason is that I recently found out he likes another girl, but "less than me". What should I do? Please no hate comments, I have no patience for that.
