What are ways one can work on being more patient during trials, seeing that's when the heat's on?

Trials are never fun to go through. God allows them to come our way to see what our worth is and just how much we will truth him with our lives. The Bible says to rejoice when persecution for Christ comes as our reward in heaven will be great.
