Can this cause stomach flu?

I had this friend named Joseph and me and him were really, really close, we hung out all the time and then one day he didn't show up at school so i called him and i was like "hey why aren't u at school today??" and he said that he was moving. I was mortified when i heard this news. I would cry all the time; I was really sad. A little after I got the news he was leaving, I got the stomach flu and i couldn't go to school on his last day he was there because I would feel like throwing up every time I stood. Could Joseph moving have caused me to get the flu? I just wanted to know....
